About me

I am a Vancouver-based videographer/ photographer studying at the University of British Columbia. However, I was born and raised in Hong Kong.

​My passion for filmmaking started when I was a little child. I remember my parents owned a Canon S90 digital camera. That camera was one of the most powerful pocket cameras, which can shoot 720p videos and produce excellent images. I would constantly document myself with it and I started learning how to film by watching YouTube tutorials. I found millions of creators on that platform and I wanted to give it a try.​ Yet, I always hesitated as I was not sure if people would love it or not.

In 2017, I finally uploaded my first YouTube video. It was a vlog about me competing in an international competition. I was determined to upload that video because I was proud of being able to represent Hong Kong and would love to share that moment with others.​ Ever since then, I kept filming and uploading new content on my YouTube channel. YouTube is the perfect platform for me to share my video work and practice my skills.​

At 2023. I wanted to expand my passion into a business, so I launched this website, Instagram @ruthtau007g, and showcased my videography and photography work. I enjoy capturing portraits, and the beauty around us. I love trying new concepts and colours for my photoshoots. I always ensure my clients are comfortable with the process and results.
