Filmmaking helps me feel, and I hope my work relates to you in some way or the other

Film Production

Filmmaking is just a form of art that allows me to express and connect with others. I want to utilize my skills in filmmaking and create films that relate to people, immerse them into my world and feel the emotions it delivers.

Most Recent MV Production

FilmfEUST 2024 is a film festival for UBC Engineering Students. Thirteen departments each film a short film of any topic. This year, I represented the ECE (Electrical & Computer Engineering). A remake of "I'm just Ken" from Barbie (2023).

A film directed, edited, color graded by Ruth Tau. Written & produced by Eve Sankar & Sarah Rerecich. Starring Parsa Keshmiri.

Music Video Production

The first one is a music video I created and filmed with my brother who wrote the music. I spent 19 hours editing and 4 hours filming, quite a tight schedule to put out this video but I enjoyed learning how to use AfterEffects, and Premiere Pro and practicing my filming skills.

The second video was my first music video production. My brother and I created that during the start of the pandemic back in 2019. There was a viral voice message that circulated around and someone made a song from that message. My brother and I wanted to do something fun and decided to make a remix and film a music video.

This was the first video that passed over 70k views got some attention from the public and got on trending on Instagram.

My first Short Film

I had no experience making a short film before. Yet I wanted to film something special for my graduating class. This was my first time directing, and I wanted to co-write a short film that is relatable to everyone that graduated and showcases the memorable memories that our class 6A shares.

The film starts with the main character feeling exhausted from work, feeling the pressure from his boss and reality. He went to sleep and the next moment, he woke up in his old classroom…

Product Video

I created this video for my engineering course APSC 100. We designed a product C.H.A.I.R., which is entirely made of cardboard. This video showcases the functionality and design of what our team designed.

This project was the first time I shot stop motion and edited a fast pace video with vibrant energetic energy. I also utilized slow motion 60fps to capture a more cinematic look.

Client Work

I worked with HKCNP (Hong Kong Church for the Poor), a non-profit organization to promote awareness among the community about helping and reaching out to the poor. It was a meaningful experience shooting that footage and producing videos for them.
